About Us

Dmitry BORODAEV

The laureate of the Moscow Government Award, The laureate of international competitions, President of MIAGA

Dear colleagues and friends! Welcome to the Moscow International Association of Guitar Art - an organization that brings together the great power and energy of the academic guitar art in our country. That’s not a secret, that joint efforts lead to the best outcomes, especially if these efforts are made by the professional community.
MIAGA is certainly to prove itself as a dynamic, vibrant, active society of talented musicians who sincerely support and stand up for the professional development of our beloved instrument - classical guitar

Evgeny FINKELSTEIN

Professor, Head of classical guitar Department in Maimonide’s Academy

MIAGA is a brilliant idea to unite both professional guitar players and guitar lovers. It is crucial to see that the inhabitation of all those who can join the Association are not limited to Moscow. By now MIAGA has already conducted guitar workshops in different cities of Russia, master classes of famous performers, and competitions, concerts and support for young talented performers are planned ahead.

Roman ZORKIN

The prizewinner of international competitions

It is said that even a few kind people can change the world. And MIAGA is a good deal of very fine people who are fond of the guitar and are dedicated to the art. So they are going to change the world for the better by giving people the music.

Anton LUBCHENKO

Conductor and art director of the symphony orchestra and chamber choir of the Sochi concert-philharmonic association.

I gladly cheer for the creation of MIAGA! Classical guitar in Russia today attracts a genuine interest of music lovers: the instrument is being actively developed, bright guitar compositions are being created, new professional composers appear, writing solo pieces as well as scores for guitar and orchestra. There is no doubt that classical guitar is a substantive movement in Russia today, therefore the creation of such an association is very timely. I hope that MIAGA will bring real fruits and relevant projects that will be an excellent platform for the further development of guitar art in our country.

Dimitri Illarionov

Prizewinner of international competitions, Associate Professor of Gnesin’s Russian Music Academy

The new Association of Guitar Art MIAGA is designed to unite the leading figures of classical guitar in Russia and, through mutual efforts, beneficially impact the future of our instrument. The current state and development of academic music poses new challenges for guitarists, teachers and performers. Given the current situation, we see the necessity to support all levels of the guitar life in Moscow and in the country as a whole, especially primary education on a classical guitar. One of the most important trends of our activity is outreach of the guitar, precisely as an academic instrument.

Arman TIGRANYAN (USA)

conductor, art director of the festival "Palermo Classic"

The guitar is a small orchestra, said the great Spanish guitar player of the 20th century, Andres Segovia. I am sure that MIAGA will become an organization that works in harmony, like a high-class orchestra, putting a classical guitar onto a world-class musical pedestal.
